THE SCHOOL ON HEART'S CONTENT ROAD

Carolyn Chute is a novelist who lives in a small, rural, wood stove heated, western Maine compound with her Scottish Terriers, AK-47 and illiterate grave digging husband. She is the leader of the Second Maine Militia which once invaded Augusta (that's our capital) with "smash the state" banners while wearing costumes and yielding duct tape and kazoos as weapons.
Her new book , "The School on Heart's Content Road" comes out this Friday. Its about living off the grid in communal polygamist Maine. Wicked.
