SLED SHOPPING

I decided this years winter past time should be snowmobiling and I've been searching for a sled. It will have to be vintage because thats all I can afford being that I need to buy a truck to get the snowmobile around. Below are a few I found online. So far my favorite is the '78 John Deere Cyclone 440.

Some great inspiration:

And an example of how capable I am of even starting one:

Wish me luck.

MIKE BONES

I used to roadie for this guy what seems like a lifetime ago. Back then we traveled the dirty south in a short bus and he played guitar for The Love Scene. His second solo album, A Fool For Everyone, comes out February on The Social Registry. You'll have to wait to hear my #1 top played itunes song One Moments Peace but below is a great new video for the song What I Have Left. Mike Bones Myspace.
Also I just found his Practice Space episode from VBS...

WINSLOW HOMER STUDIO

Winslow Homer's old house and studio is a stones throw down the coast on Prouts Neck. He painted a lot of his best work here from 1883 until his death in 1910. The home was recently purchased by the Portland Museum of Art and they are currently raising money to preserve the site and eventually open it to the public. More info and link to donate here.

SCOTT PETERMAN'S ICE SHACKS

Up here in Maine, this time of year comes with mixed feelings. Like sure you're going ice fishing and snowmobiling with your friends but you have to spend an hour getting your car to start and good luck getting the feeling back in your feet any time soon. Scott Peterman's book of ice shack photography  is a good testament to how difficult yet beautiful it gets up here this time of year. I'm looking forward to it.
